Sr. Product Designer

Minerva Project / Remote Position (November 2021 - Present)

As one of two designers on a small-but-mighty product team, I co-own the interactive experience on Minerva’s proprietary learning platforms, from Forum (the digital classroom) to CourseBuilder (the curriculum-builder).

• Led discovery, research, and design for the new hybrid learning configurations on Forum to take the online classroom into an in-person setting

Ad Hoc LLC / Remote Position (November 2017 - November 2021)

As a generalist at this federal contracting agency, I craft essential features for responsive gov websites used by millions on VA.gov, search.gov, and Medicare.gov.

• Restructured Medicare’s plan details page to increase readability, usability, and improve hierarchy to reduce cognitive load for beneficiaries

• Lead designer for Veterans Experience Office initiative to consolidate address management at VA to one source of truth, VA Profile

• Redesigned the search results page for federal search engine Search.gov for U.S. Web Design Standard compliance and increased usability

UX Designer

The Chronicle of Higher Education / Washington, D.C. (December 2015 - August 2017)

At this lead source for higher education news, I owned the interactive experience for Vitae, a professional network/job board for professors and adjuncts.

• Designed and delivered a robust in-app messaging experience on Vitae

• Increased engagement on ChronicleVitae by 128% after redesigning the Job Alerts feature

• Retooled Vitae’s information architecture (navigational structure) from research to delivery

• Got stakeholder buy-in to run Chronicle’s first Google design sprint, redesigning the landing page for a key revenue source

Promoted from UX intern to full-time designer in November 2013

Iatric Systems / Remote Position (May 2013 - November 2015)

As the sole UX designer at this health IT company, I designed a wide array of essential software used by hospitals nationwide.

• Led the full design process for HealthPulse, an iOS app for storing healthcare info, from inception to app store release

• Created comprehensive brand guidelines and Iatric’s first design system of UI elements

• Wrote and administered formal in-person usability studies for government certification
